Yes, we allow minors in our space. Our craft projects are geared for adults but we have several child friendly project options. They are more than welcome to help!
While we do not allow dogs in the bar (besides service animals), we do have an outdoor patio space that can accommodate dogs.
Yes, we have an outdoor patio we share with the cafe next door. You are welcome to work on your craft projects indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather and availability.
We do not serve food but you are welcome to bring your own food into the bar or have food delivered. There are plenty of restaurants in the area that offer take-out and there's a grocery store 1 block away that has tons of snacks.
Since we don't sell coffee or tea, you may bring in those types of drinks but no outside drinks are allowed (including alcohol or softdrinks).
You may also bring your own water bottle and use our fill station during your time at DIY BAR.
Yes, we allow walk-ins however we encourage you to book a reservation through our website. Reservations help us to appropriately staff the bar and ensure that we have enough space for your group.
Occasionally we close early or have private parties so just call us at 503-477-6090 ahead of time to make sure we are open!
Yes, we host all sorts of private events from fundraisers, team building, bachelorette parties, baby showers, birthday parties, or any other event. Please email portland@diybar.co for more details.
Yes, we do! We think that crafting is a creative way to encourage socializing between team members. Plus it's a super fun & unique experience AND everyone gets to take something (they made) home with them!

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Please inform us of a cancellation or change to your reservation 48 hours in advance. There is a $20 no show fee/late cancellation fee if made within 24 hours. So, if you have a reservation for 8, but only 6 show up, $40 will be charged to the card you reserved with.
For DIY BAR led workshops and outside Maker workshops you will be charged in full if you don't cancel within 48 hours.
For private parties held at DIY BAR and off-site team-building events, cancellations must be made 1 week in advance otherwise you will be charged in full for the amount of people you had booked. Changes in size of group can be made up to 72 hours in advance. The same $20 per person policy applies for all private parties & off-site team-building events.
Each person can choose a different craft project or you can do the same, totally up to you! That's the beauty of DIY BAR! All of our tutorials are self-guided and we are around to help if you get stuck or need guidance.
All of our craft projects are designed for beginners. We pride ourselves on being “a place for crafty and not so crafty people”. The instructions are user friendly and simple for anyone to understand. We also have a team of experienced craft tenders who are available to help if you need assistance.
The craft projects on our menu range from $39-44. During happy hour (Wed-Fri from 2pm-5pm) select projects are $10 off. Check out our project menu and our instagram for some inspiration!
Each project includes all of the materials, tools, and step-by-step instructions you need to complete your craft. Drinks are sold separately and range from $3-8 depending on your selection.
We sure do! We can come to your office, home, wedding, event center, and more. We have certain minimums (10+ people) so please reach out to portland@diybar.co for more details.
Our teambuilding activities vary from group to group.
-Join us at DIY BAR's Flagship Store for in-person events. Everyone gets to choose a self-guided craft from our project menu and work at their leisure. We also offer seasonal instructor-led workshops. Email portland@diybar.co for more info.
-For groups on a time-crunch and who want to prioritize socializing over creating, we offer a luggage tag craft where everyone gets to customize, stamp their name and stain 2 tags to take home with them. This works very well with large groups!
-We can also teach a lot of our projects at a location of your choosing. There are extra fees for travel and if holding at a third party venue, we'll need their approval prior to booking.

Most of the crafts are $39 - $44 each.
If you bring your group during Happy Hour you'll save $10 per select HH project and $1 per drink.
Gratuity is added to the final bill for all groups of 6+, including off-sites and special events.
If hosting an off-site, the pricing is the same as above but we add a $175 travel fee.
Our luggage tag station is $595 and it includes 40 luggage tags. Additional tags may be purchased for $5 each.
Our Shibori Indigo dye workshop is $695 for 40 towels. Additional towels may be purchased for $5 each.
Our Craft + Sip Sessions are 3 hours long and each craft varies on the amount of time it takes to complete. Most people finish in 1.5 - 2.5 hours, depending on how much they are socializing (and drinking).
For those with time constraints, our leather luggage tag craft is a great way to spend 1-2 hours socializing and getting creative.
We can host groups as large as 40, depending on the day and time of year. Most of the groups that book are 8 - 20 attendees.

We can host team building activities 7 days a week, just let us know a day and time that works for your group. If during our normal business hours (wed-sun), you must stay within our timeslots the best you can and on special occasions and group sizes, we can move things around. If on a day we are typically closed (mon-tues) you may come at any time.
You sure can! We have a minimum spend of $750 plus gratuity to rent out the entire space. That's about 15 people with crafts and drinks. We have 2 working areas in DIY BAR that can both fit about 16 people comfortably so if you don't think you can hit that minimum you are more than welcome to book your group in one of our craft + sip sessions. We can ship craft kits to all 50 states, including Hawaii and Alaska (for a little extra shipping). We offer free shipping to the lower 48 on orders of $99 or more. That's like 3 crafts!
If ordering for a group, shipping will be invoiced for each address we ship to.

Yes! If you send us an address list, we can ship all of the crafts to one location or to every team member and you can host your own event. Email hello@diybar.co for additional info.
We do! We can ship kits to upwards of 1,000 people and teach them over zoom or whatever preferred platform you have.
It's simple! We get an address file from you for your team members, we ship all of the needed materials to everyone, pick a day/time that works and teach you all how to get crafty over zoom or whatever platform you choose!
Virtual events are typically the price of the craft + an instructor fee. These fees vary from instructor to instructor. For budgetary purposes you should use $200 - $300.
We have a virtual group minimum of 10 people.
We need a a minimum of at least 3 weeks notice for any type of virtual event. With shipping delays and coordinating our instructors schedules, it makes it easier if we plan 4+ weeks in advance.
Sort of...We can ship craft kits to those members of your team that can't make the in-person event (so they don't feel like they are missing out) but we aren't able to teach a virtual class + do an in-person event at this time.
For cancellations made within 1 week of the event, there are no refunds for kits or instructor fees. If changes are needed, let us know before the 1 week mark to avoid this.
