WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY
For DIY BAR sessions, we have a 48 hour cancelation / change policy for parties of 6 and under. Meaning, if you need to cancel or change your reservation, you may do so 48 hours before your reservation.
For groups sized 6+ there is a 1 week cancellation policy, meaning you may cancel, free of charge if made 1 week prior to your session date. If you need to change the number of people in your 6+ party, same 48 hour rules apply.
Private Events can be cancelled up to 2 weeks prior to the event date free of charge. If cancelled within 1-2 weeks, 50% of the minimum will be charged. If cancelled within 0-1 week, the entire minimum spend will be charged.
Please reply to your reservation email (portland@diybar.co) to cancel or change the # of attendees in your party. Phone calls or messages aren't accepted and changes/cancellations have to be in writing. Please include the date, time, reservation name, along with what ever changes you need! We staff according to the number of people that book, so the advanced notice is a huge help! Same policy applies for reservations made within 48 hours.
If you don’t let us know about changes to the # of people in your group, if you don’t show up, or if you cancel within 48 hours, there is a $20 fee per person that does not show up. So, if you have a reservation for 8, but only 6 show up, $40 will be charged to the card on file. If you book a 6+ reservation and cancel within 1 week, you will be charged $20 per person booked.
For Instructor-Led workshops taught by outside artists, you will be charged in full if you cancel within 48 hours. Due to the nature of these one-time-only workshops, all events hosted by special guests are subject to this policy.
In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, increases in local Covid cases, changes to local Covid guidance, positive Covid cases on our staff, or other Act of God, you will receive an email to either cancel or reschedule you for a later date.
ABOUT OUR POLICY
Our workshops require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff, and making commitments to pay our instructors -- all based on the number of students who register. When students ask to cancel or reschedule at the last minute, we lose money. As a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs and still keep our class prices low.
In fairness to all of our customers we are unable to make exceptions to our policy, including for reasons of illness, travel, or work hours. If you are unable to attend a workshop at the last minute, we suggest giving your spot to a friend!
Thank you for understanding!
